For 45 years Dougall Media and Radio Station CKPR have given our Rotary Club a wonderful opportunity. For one day in February, Dougall Media allows the Rotary Club to sell ads to be aired on the station. Members of the club sell 30 second ads to individuals and members of the business community. Ads are purchased to say THANK YOU to individuals, clients, suppliers and Rotary for Service above Self. Ads range from material prepared by the club, to ads specially written to thank someone, to ads commercially prepared by businesses.
We average 450 ads per year. To date the club has raised almost one million dollars through this partnership.
The minimal expenses for this project come from club funds so that 100% of the money raised in this project is used directly in support of the good works of Rotary.
These funds are used by the club to support our work in the community (for example, Rotary Shelter House, the Salvation Army Field of Greens and the Dew Drop Inn), our work in the world (for example, Shelter Box, Polio Plus and the construction of a clinic in Peru), our work with youth (for example, RYLA, Rotary Youth Exchange and literacy projects) and donations in support of numerous worthy projects by others in our community.
We are grateful for the great corporate citizenship shown by Dougall Media in allowing us to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
