The event:
The Rotary Clubs of Thunder Bay and Nipigon are hosting an awareness workshop on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) on June 20, 2012 at Confederation College.
Event Features:
This event will include a Blue Ribbon Panel discussion involving personnel in education, medicine, psychiatry, psychology, community and social work, governance, law enforcement, rehabilitation and parenting. Rotary members will coordinate the event.
Our Goal
This event is designed to bring the community together with a singular focus for one day on prevention of prenatal exposure to alcohol with a goal of developing community-wide prevention strategies that will be followed up by a newly formed Healthy Brains for Children Chapter.
Future Direction
Healthy Brains for Children will follow-up on any significant effort requiring cooperation between agencies and organizations, with plans of re-convening the local participants annually to reflect on progress and reinforce the efforts as needed.
